Cougars for Better Education
Cougars for Better Education, Inc. (C4BE) is a non-profit organization formed in the fall of 1995 which raises and disburses funds to support Bloomington High School North. C4BE supports academic, artistic, civic and athletic endeavors at BHSN. Projects supported by C4BE are those that will provide significant improvements to BHSN and are not funded by the Monroe County Community School Corporation or any other sources. We rely on volunteer efforts to direct and staff our activities, so virtually all funds raised are expended for educational projects at North.
There are several ways that you can help C4BE in supporting Bloomington North. All contributions are tax deductible. For details about the various programs of giving, please click on the following links.
Cougars for Better Education wants to say THANK YOU to every contributor; however, in order to ensure our donors' privacy, we list only corporate donors on our Web site.
Over $6,900 was raised in 2006-07; the majority was donated directly to C4BE by individuals including parents, teachers and alumni. Funds also were raised in two fundraising events and the on-going Buy-A-Brick program.
Money donated was used to fund grants totaling almost $5500 for 8 different departments at BHSN. Additional expenditures were made for Teacher/ Staff Appreciation and Faculty Professional Development. For a list of the funded grants please click on the following links:
Cougars for Better Education encourages you to become involved as a fellow advocate for educational excellence at BHSN. C4BE meets in the school’s Large Group room just across the hall to the north from the Library/ Media Center. Our meetings are held on the second Tuesday of each month during the school year at 7:30pm (Note: the meeting for January is tentative and there will be no meeting in March due to Spring Break). We are joined each meeting by a teacher representative and a member of the BHSN administration who provide a school update and answer questions.
We would really appreciate your help as a volunteer for school activities including Teacher/Staff Appreciation, Cougar Encounter (Freshman Orientation) and the Parent Open House. Please contact any officer listed below.
Nominations for the Celebrated Cougars Alumni Wall of Fame are accepted on an ongoing basis. Printable nomination forms are available here:
